Sol de Janeiro Body Badalada Lotion Review

The Lightweight Body Cream with That Signature Summer Smell

I'm reviewing the Sol de Janeiro Body Badalada and honestly everyone was a fan of the Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream so we were super keen to give this brazilian cream lotion a try.

We just had to see what it smelled like and how it lasted on the skin. It is vitamin infused so it sort of gives that smell of summer and something nice to put on as you go out at night. People always ask why do you smell so good, well it's my Sol de Janeiro Body Badalada.

Key ingredients and claims

So what is it and where does it fit in the range? As part of Sol de Janeiro's plan they are expanding into more body care products so this is part of their body care line.

It is designed to hydrate and even brighten the skin. It says it is lightweight yet still delivers a lot of moisture for that lightweight formula. It has skin care ingredients to lock in that moisture and features the signature Cheirosa 62 fragrance.

Some of the top highlights we noticed are Brazilian sugar cane which boosts hydration by drawing moisture into the skin, a hyaluronic acid blend with different molecular weights, cactus pear extract rich in antioxidants and vitamin K, and Brazilian nut oil packed with vitamin E plus omega 3 and 6.

The fragrance notes are pistachio, almond, jasmine, vanilla, salted caramel and a hint of sandalwood.

Why this Sol de Janeiro body cream is popular

I suppose why this got so popular is because of the huge success of the Brazilian Bum Bum Cream and now this lighter version in the body care line. The signature Cheirosa 62 fragrance is loved by so many and it gives that summer vibe while still delivering real hydration and a silky finish.

How to use it

In terms of how to get started with it and where to use it, it can actually be used morning or evening after the shower or as you go out. It's honestly so simple to use.

Step one: put it on day or night.

Step two: after your shower just pump some out.

Step three: glide it over your skin and rub in.

Step four: it sinks in fast so you can get dressed soon after or head out.

The pump makes it so easy, no mess, no dipping fingers into a tub.

Texture and feel on the skin

The first thing we noticed is the lightness of the product so it sort of glides over really easily in a thin layer. It's not sticky and it sinks into the skin leaving it hydrated and almost silky.

It is great for both warm months after you've been out in the sun all day (when your skin feels salty and dried out) and in winter when you are quite dry. For more hydration tips check out our guide on how to hydrate your skin overnight or our page on dry skin.

Testing the Sol de Janeiro Body Badalada

Body Badalada Lotion Scent

In terms of scent some people find it quite sickly but I think the Cheirosa 62 is quite warm, salted caramel, vanilla and pistachios. It's delicious and not actually overwhelming on the skin. It gives that natural tint of fragrance that lasts nicely without being too strong.

Results and overall thoughts

Down to how great it is or not and honestly it has such an amazing feel on the skin. It just leaves it feeling really hydrated and refreshed.

It is such good value for money and we would definitely recommend trying the Sol de Janeiro Body Badalada. If you can get past any hesitation about trying a new body care product from the brand I would say go for it. It's lightweight, smells incredible and leaves skin feeling nourished without any heaviness.

Difference between Bum Bum Cream and Body Badalada lotion?

If you already love the original Bum Bum Cream and you're wondering what's the difference, this one is not so heavy.

So if you're looking for a smelly, hydrating formula that's not too thick this is for you. It's ideal for the morning or the evening after a shower when you're about to go out for the night.

bumbum cream vs badalada lotion

If you already love their scents and lotions then it's definitely one to try. You can buy it from Sephora, Mecca and Amazon.
